Hi Friends,

It is Capricorn season. This season is often talked about and lived through in terms of productivity and pushing. Aside from the few days when most people take the same time off, this tends to be a busy bee stretch of the year. Only a few years ago, I would have spent Capricorn season chasing billable hour targets in vain, buying presents just for the sake of buying them, and trying to lose weight so I could enter the new year a little trimmer. I never even made the time to do a proper vision board for myself.

But Capricorn is a winter sign. With Capricorn, we become aware of limits and of what it takes to endure.

I’m finding out that Capricorn season does not require us to sprint. It asks us to take stock and to look honestly at the year we’ve lived. It’s here where we notice where we’re tired, where something has run its course, and where it makes sense to conserve our energy for what matters. (Like looking through old photos to see how much more of a fun mom I’ve become.)

I’m seeing that some things don’t need to be pushed forward right now, especially when the urgency is only external. The things I hadn’t released earlier in the year are definitely ready to be released now. Cut, cut and cut. And speaking of what’s been ending, it helps to look at the past few years of Saturn’s movement through Pisces.

Saturn in Pisces:
Leaky Faucets and an Ending That Took Its Time 🌱

I’ve been studying the 3-year periods when Saturn, the planet of structure, boundaries, and what we must learn to master and mature through, moves through each zodiac sign. As we move through Capricorn season, we’re also nearing the end of Saturn’s time in Pisces. This transit began in March of 2023, and we’ve seen the physical manifestations of its movement through this watery sign. We’ve seen the symbolism of Saturn’s transit here play out slowly, often in ways that were easy to miss at first.

Pisces is tied to intuition, imagination, and dissolution. With Saturn in Pisces, one thing we’ve been prompted to do is release what can’t be sustained anymore.

As an example, Saturn has been moving through my 10th house, the place of career and public identity. These last few years have compelled me to let go of an identity I once organized my life around. That ending didn’t happen all at once. It came in waves.

The Gemini Full Moon and the Sagittarius New Moon - What Truths Do You See Now?

All of this connects back to the recent lunations in Gemini and Sagittarius. I recorded the episode with Amanda between Gemini and Sagittarius moons earlier this summer.

These moons have brought truths to the surface about the necessary endings and the new beginnings we’ve been pursuing. These truths have been hard to avoid or unsee. For many of us, they’ve compelled us to ask direct questions about belief and direction. So, what is true at the end of such a pivotal year for you? And, what vision have you been pursuing that feels spiritually and practically sustainable.

This is the crossroads where we harmonize our discernment with clear facts, and tend to ourselves in the process.

Moving Forward, Gently

As we move deeper into Capricorn season and toward the close of the year, Venus and Mars are moving together with the Sun in Capricorn in a way that points our effort toward what truly matters.

Said another way, we’re invited to take steady action toward what we value most. This is a time to tend carefully to what builds and what can be sustained over time, rather than forcing momentum where it doesn’t belong.

Mercury in Sagittarius invites honesty of an aligned direction, even when the path ahead isn’t fully formed or clear.

For now, this season supports rest, reflection, and quiet planning, if that’s the rhythm you’ve been moving in.
